UCSF Partners in Care

UCSF Partners in Care is a volunteer, nonprofit organization that raises funds for much-needed patient amenities. The auxiliary's mission is to provide comfort to patients and their families as a complement to the compassionate care they receive at UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.

With the help of donors and friends, the organization raises funds for patient services and amenities such as teddy bears for children undergoing surgery, televisions, artwork for hallways and patient rooms, funding for the palliative care program called Comfort Care, waiting room renovations, sleep chairs for families and visitors and a fund to assist families who have lost a loved one.

UCSF Partners in Care depends on the support and generosity of friends. Individuals, corporations and foundations contribute to our annual giving program, making a memorial or donation in honor of a friend or significant occasion. One hundred percent of donations go to help patients and their families.

Fundraising Programs and Events

Other fundraising programs and events include:

• Art Sales — Artists donate their artwork for sale to benefit the medical center. Artwork is displayed at the Parnassus hospital at UCSF Medical Center.
• Book Fair — The Around the World Book Fair sells books and other merchandise at a reduced price. A portion of proceeds is donated to the auxiliary's grant program.
• Cell Phone and Printer Ink Cartridge Recycling — Contact UCSF Partners in Care for information about where to recycle cell phones and printer ink cartridges.
• eScrip Program — UCSF Partners in Care is part of the eScrip program, a California-based corporation that establishes relationships between businesses and organizations. Local businesses, including grocery stores, restaurants and hotels, are participating merchants. After registering for free with these merchants, you contribute to your chosen organization based on your purchases. Proceeds help fund activities benefiting UCSF Medical Center. • Jewelry Sales — Twice a year, UCSF Partners in Care hosts a jewelry sale where jewelers offer merchandise at substantial savings. A percentage of sales is donated.
• Special Events — Each year, the organization hosts special events to raise funds for its programs.
