eScrip
UCSF Children's Hospital and the UCSF Medical Center Auxiliary have enrolled with eScrip, a company that helps organizations raise money through a network of 700 merchants such as Macy's and Safeway. To participate, register your credit and debit cards with eScrip. Each time you make a purchase, either in person or online, eScrip will donate a percentage of your purchase to UCSF Children's Hospital or the auxiliary. The percentage donated to UCSF varies with each merchant. To register or find out more, visit www.escrip.com.
Programs and Projects
Mission Bay Hospitals
The new UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay is a state-of-the-art complex with three new integrated hospitals — one for cancer patients, another for children and a third for women — that is scheduled to open in 2014.
The hospital will be located just south of UCSF's biomedical campus at Mission Bay, strengthening collaboration between health researchers and health care providers and helping advance the translation of research findings into therapies and cures — all in a world-class, family-centered healing environment.

Auxiliary
The UCSF Medical Center Auxiliary is a volunteer, nonprofit organization that supports the hospital through volunteerism, fundraising and community relations.
With the help of donors and friends, the auxiliary raises funds for amenities such as teddy bears for children undergoing surgery, televisions, artwork for hallways and patient rooms, the palliative care program, waiting room renovations, sleeping chairs for families and visitors, toys and a fund to assist families who have lost a child or loved one.

Child Life Services
Child Life Services works to ensure that each child's developmental and emotional needs are met while they're cared for at UCSF Children's Hospital. A staff of credentialed teachers and child life specialists provide a wide range of services, such as:
- Preparing young patients for medical procedures using age-specific teaching tools such as models, dolls, medical equipment and pictures
- School program for hospitalized children and their siblings
- Activity rooms for kids and teens to relax and play
- Music therapy and animal therapy
- Age-appropriate activities and bedside play
- Visits from community groups and celebrities
- Cuddling for babies

Glogau Teddy Bear Rescue Fund
The Glogau Teddy Bear Rescue Fund was established by a UCSF doctor and nurse, in appreciation for the care their son received at UCSF. The fund provides toys, hotel vouchers and other amenities for needy children and their families who have traveled to receive the specialized treatment available at UCSF Children's Hospital.
