Mortality Test for Age 50 and Older
If you're age 50 or older, UCSF geriatric researchers have created a 12-question mortality index that can predict your chance of dying in four years. It was developed to give doctors, patients and families a reasonable idea of what may happen and could be a wake up call for some to stop smoking and exercise.
Take the test below. Results should be discussed and interpreted by your doctor or other health care professional.
This index, developed by researchers at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center, is based on general risks and trends for broad populations or groups. Results generated by this index should be discussed and interpreted by your doctor or other health care professional.
For more information about the index, read the UCSF news release or the report in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
This information is for educational purposes only and is not intended to replace the advice of your doctor or health care provider. We encourage you to discuss with your doctor any questions or concerns you may have.
