UCSF Holds Heart Health Workshop for Asian Women

A lecture presented in Cantonese to help Chinese and Chinese-American women understand the risks of heart disease was held on Friday, May 19 at a free workshop, co-sponsored by the UCSF National Center of Excellence in Women's Health, UCSF Asian Heart and Vascular Center, Self Help for the Elderly and American Heart Association.

The workshop, called "Heart Health Today: Understanding a Woman's Risks," was held at the Lady Shaw Senior Center, 1483 Mason St. in San Francisco.

The event began with free blood pressure screenings, followed by a lecture in Cantonese. Refreshments and a question-and-answer session also were offered.
