When applying online, can I copy and paste my resume into your Web site?

Yes, after you log into the system, you will be prompted to copy and paste your entire resume and a cover letter to submit online. If you don't have a resume, an online resume builder is available.

Can I email my resume as an attachment?

No, please don't send your resume as an attachment. Our application system is fully Web-based. All applications are accepted through our web site.

I don't know how to use the computer. How should I apply for a job?

During business hours, the staff in our Human Resources office is available to assist you in applying for a job. The Human Resources offices are located at:

  • 2233 Post St., suites 301 and 302
  • 350 Parnassus Ave., suite 210

Offices are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. Computer terminals and tutorials are available to guide you. We also offer classes on the application process. Classes are held in a computer lab at our Parnassus location. For more information or to sign up for a class, please call (415) 353-4688.

How will I know that my resume and application was submitted correctly?

After applying for a specific job or submitting your resume, a message will appear confirming that your application was received.

How soon will a recruiter receive my application, after I submit it?

Resumes are available to a recruiter within two hours after you submit them via the Web site.

After I've applied, when will I hear back from someone?

This time frame will vary. After your resume is reviewed, a hiring manager will contact applicants whose skills and experiences most closely match the job requirements.

How can I find the status of my resume?

The status of your resume is not readily available to you. We receive a high volume of resumes and it is difficult to track all of them.

Where can I find information about benefits?

UCSF offers an exceptionally comprehensive benefit package, which is effective on an employee's first day of employment. For a benefits summary, please click on the following link: http://www.ucsfhealth.org/adult/jobs/benefits.html

If I have more questions about a job that I've applied for, whom should I contact?

If you have any questions, please call (415) 353-4688.

Where can I get salary information -- both salary ranges and a salary quote if I am hired?

Salary ranges are all available online. Please visit http://www.ucsfhr.ucsf.edu/staffing/tpp/tppsearch.html. Jobs are sorted by title code. The title code is listed under "job code" in the job listing. A salary quote is specific to the candidate being considered. The hiring manager or Human Resources will communicate the salary quotes to you.

What does it mean when a union represents a position?

UCSF is a highly unionized environment. Specific unions represent positions. If you accept a job represented by a union, you are required to pay union dues or agency fees. The union will represent you in terms of bargaining and contracts. More specific details on the union contracts are located at: http://ucsfhr.ucsf.edu/policies/

How can I update my resume in the applicant database?

You can access your resume by providing your email address and password. Your resume will be accessible at that time and you can make changes to that information. If you forget your password, submit your email address and your password will be sent to you.
