Breast Cancer

Research

In addition to delivering state-of-the-art care, doctors and scientists at the Breast Care Center are involved in both traditional and nontraditional research approaches. Through patient studies, called clinical trials, and laboratory research, they investigate the fundamental causes of breast cancer, what can be done to prevent cancer or to diagnose it as early as possible, integrate patient decision-making and psychosocial support into care, and test and evaluate new treatments.

Information about clinical trials for breast cancer can be found in clinicaltrials.gov or on the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center Web site.
