Acupuncture

Our Experts

The practitioners at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine are licensed acupuncturists who are trained in numerous forms of Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage, counseling and nutrition. Our practitioners have years of experience, with specialty training in treating patients with complex medical conditions, as well as in promoting general wellness.

Other Experts

Joseph S. Acquah, acupuncturist and Tai Chi Chuan instructor

Joseph Acquah is a nationally recognized diplomate in acupuncture (NCCAOM). He is the former clinical director and internship coordinator for the California Acupuncture College. Joseph began practicing acupuncture in 1981 and has taught at several colleges of traditional Chinese medicine including, most recently, the New England School of Acupuncture. An expert in the art of Tai Chi Chuan, Joseph also has a master's degree in clinical psychology.

Beverly Burns, licensed acupuncturist

Beverly Burns has been practicing Chinese medicine since 1991, specializing in women's health and cancer. In addition, she helped establish the Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic in Oakland, a clinic for low-income women with cancer, where she is the clinical director. She also is part of a multidisciplinary team participating in research for women with breast cancer at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
