Bowel Function Disorders |

Practically everyone has experienced some common digestive problem, such as diarrhea or constipation, which interrupts normal bowel functions and causes discomfort. These conditions generally resolve themselves within a few hours or days and usually do not require the attention of a health care provider.
However, if diarrhea or constipation persists, they may lead to more serious conditions, such as dehydration, or signal an underlying problem. In these cases, it is important that you contact your doctor immediately for a definite diagnosis and treatment.
