Head and Neck

Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery provides a broad scope of services to diagnose and manage ear, nose and throat problems; head and neck surgery; and plastic and reconstructive surgery of the face. Services include:

• Otology and Neurology — Evaluates and treats hearing loss, tinnitis, dizziness and vertigo. Full audiologic and vestibular testing is available. Cochlear implants is an area of expertise.

• Head and Neck Cancer — Treats all forms of head and neck cancers including those of the larynx, oral cavity, salivary glands, sinuses and thyroid gland as well as throat, tongue and tonsil.

• Head and Neck Surgery — Evaluates and manages disorders involving the airway, voice, salivary glands, thyroid, parathyroid glands and lymph nodes.

• Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery — Treats the aging face, refines and contours facial features, reanimates paralyzed muscles and corrects nasal and sinus disorders and performs reconstructive surgery.

• General Otolaryngology — Cares for ear, nose and throat disorders including infections, sinus disease, hoarseness and tonsil and adenoid disease.

• Sinus Center — Treats diseases of the sinus, nose and related areas, including sinus infection, tumors of the nose and sinus, nasal obstruction and allergy.

• Sleep Disorders -- Uses the UCSF Sleep Disorders Center and Laryngology Program to diagnose and treat disorders of the airway, voice and swallowing.

• Voice and Swallowing Center -- A team including laryngologists, speech language pathologists, vocal trainers and researchers who specialize in the diagnosis and management of patients with voice, airway, speech and swallowing problems.
