Appointments
You also may be referred to another one of our facilities for testing. The Osteoporosis Center at Mount Zion provides bone density testing by DXA (dual X-ray absorptiometry) and ultrasound. Many insurance companies require pre-authorization for these tests. If you are not sure if you need pre-authorization, call our office for assistance. Since the DXA exam uses low dose X-rays, it must be ordered by your doctor. You will need a signed referral or prescription slip for the exam. When you come for your bone density test, please bring your referral or prescription slip, insurance card and authorization letter or number, if needed.
Specific directions: Enter Mount Zion hospital at the 2200 Post entrance (corner of Post and Scott). Walk 20 feet forward to an elevator on your right. The sign overhead says "Hellman building elevator." Take the elevator to the fourth floor and go right. Cross the stairwell. Room C-409 is the second door on your left.
