Liver specialists at UCSF Medical Center have a particular interest in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and new treatments. They are currently participating in a federally funded national network that is conducting treatment trials for the condition. The lead NAFLD investigators are Drs. Merriman and Bass.
