Research
Research, involving patients, currently is underway to study the genetic risk factors in ALS. Our goal is to understand more about genetic factors that may predispose patients to develop ALS, contribute to the rate of progression and influence where the weakness starts and spreads. Understanding the answers to these questions is expected to help to with development of more effective treatments. For more information, contact the UCSF ALS Center at (415) 353-2108 or email alscntr@itsa.ucsf.edu.
