UCSF Medical Center has been a major center for the diagnosis and treatment of all types of pituitary disorders for more than 50 years. The Pituitary Treatment Center at UCSF is a multidisciplinary clinical service whose board-certified specialists are internationally recognized for their expertise. The center provides state-of-the-art diagnostic ability in all aspects of endocrinology and neuroradiology as well as comprehensive therapy of pituitary and hypothalamic disorders, including neurosurgery, radiation therapy and medical therapy. During the past 25 years, more than 3500 patients with pituitary tumors have been treated surgically at UCSF and many more have been treated with medical or radiation therapy.
Led by neurosurgeon Dr. Sandeep Kunwar and Dr. Mitchel Berger, and in close collaboration with the doctors in every section of UCSF's Pituitary Treatment Center, the Pituitary Adenoma Surgery Program offers a comprehensive, state-of-the-art transsphenoidal therapy of pituitary disorders.
