Stroke patients and their caregivers work with a team of specialists at UCSF Medical Center. Depending on your needs, your team may include a neurologist, neurosurgeon, anesthesiologist, physiatrist (rehabilitation doctor), nurses, dietitian, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, social worker, psychologist or psychiatrist. In some cases, your neurologist will refer you to professionals at other institutions who can assist you.
