The UCSF Shoulder and Elbow Service is comprised of a team of orthopedic surgeons, nurses and physical therapists. We specialize in advanced arthroscopic surgical techniques, or joint surgery, requiring only minor incisions as well as reconstructive procedures.
We treat a variety of disorders including athletic injuries, overuse syndromes, post-traumatic lesions, degenerative lesions and arthritis. We also perform shoulder replacements. As part of our treatment plan, we tailor care to meet each patient's needs.
In addition to patient care, our team is involved in teaching residents, fellows and other orthopedic surgeons through lectures, journal articles, book chapters and computerized surgical simulations.
