Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a group of conditions that cause scarring, called fibrosis or inflammation of the lungs, and gradually interferes with breathing. The Interstitial Lung Disease Center of Excellence at UCSF Medical Center is a full-service consultative center specializing in the care of people with interstitial lung disease. We provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment as well as guidance to patients and providers regarding the management of the disease.
