Signs and Symptoms

Although nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) can affect all organs of the body, the condition primarily affects the lungs. Symptoms typically progress slowly and may include:

• Cough
• Fever
• Weight loss
• Lack of appetite
• Night sweats
• Blood in the sputum
• Loss of energy
