Signs and Symptoms Although nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) can affect all organs of the body, the condition primarily affects the lungs. Symptoms typically progress slowly and may include:
- Cough
- Fever
- Weight loss
- Lack of appetite
- Night sweats
- Blood in the sputum
- Loss of energy
