UCSF Medical Center is one of the pioneer centers in the world for the diagnosis, treatment and research of sexual dysfunction conditions affecting men. These include erectile dysfunction, priapism and Peyronie's disease. Patients have access to a wide range of the most advanced treatments for sexual dysfunction disorders, ranging from oral medications and penile injections to surgery. Our urologists employ a multidisciplinary treatment approach by working closely with other specialists, such as neurologists, to design the best possible treatment plan for each patient.
In addition to providing excellent patient care, our experts are conducting innovative, translational research that aims to improve the quality of life and treatment options for men suffering from disorders that affect their normal sexual functions. The urology laboratory at UCSF is considered one of the premier research facilities in penile pathophysiology in the world. Over the past 20 years, our experts have made many important discoveries related to penile physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, Peyronie's disease, priapism and erectile dysfunction.
