In addition to their clinical expertise, the UCSF Women's Continence Center practitioners are internationally recognized leaders in many aspects of research about urinary incontinence and pelvic floor support problems or prolapse.

Nurses

Janis Luft, nurse practitioner

Janis Luft is a nurse practitioner, clinical research coordinator and the designer and director of the pelvic floor rehabilitation and behavioral treatment program for incontinence. She is a member of the gynecology staff at the Women's Continence Center, part of the UCSF Women's Health Center. Luft is a graduate of the UCSF Ambulatory Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program and is an assistant clinical professor at UCSF's School of Nursing. She has a special interest in women's health and expertise in urinary incontinence and menopause.

Wendy Katzman, physical therapist

Physical therapist Wendy Katzman is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist, with a special clinical interest in treating the musculoskeletal effects of osteoporosis with exercise. She is a clinical Instructor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehab Science at UCSF. She also is the vice-president of the American Physical Therapy Association's Geriatric Section Special Interest Group on Osteoporosis and lectures extensively to professional and community audiences on physical therapy management of osteoporosis.
