Breast Cancer Follow-Up Program

After successfully completing cancer treatment, you will be referred to the Breast Cancer Follow-up Program. Your treatment typically includes surgery as well as radiation therapy or chemotherapy, or both. The comprehensive follow-up program is designed to cover treatment-related concerns you may have and your long term needs. You will receive regular breast check-ups as well as screening tests and lab evaluations as needed. In addition, the program addresses quality of life issues. These issues include dealing with symptoms of menopause that may occur after chemotherapy, taking hormonal drugs or halting hormone replacement therapy, sexuality issues, mood or sleep disturbances, nutritiional questions and your general well being.

You will be seen by either a nurse practitioner or by Dr. Mindy Goldman, a gynecologist, depending on your individual issues and needs. For more information, please contact the Breast Care Center at (415) 353-7070.
