Comprehensive Fibroid Center
The UCSF Comprehensive Fibroid Center is devoted to serving the specific needs of women with uterine fibroids. We are dedicated to finding the best solution for each woman. The choice of treatment will depend on a woman's preference and on medical advice based on the size and location of her fibroids. We offer a variety of innovative surgical techniques including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. In addition, we perform uterine artery embolization, a new non-surgical procedure for women who have completed childbearing. Our services include:
- Consultations to disucss symptoms and develop individual care plans
- Surgical alternatives to hysterectomy
- Laparascopy and hysteroscopy
- Uterine artery embolization
- Coodinated care with other UCSF Medical Center specialists such as fertility experts and high-risk obstetricians
