Comprehensive Fibroid Center
The UCSF Comprehensive Fibroid Center is dedicated to customized care to provide the best treatment available for women with uterine fibroids.
The choice of treatment depends on your personal preference and on the size and location of your fibroids. We offer a variety of innovative surgical techniques including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. We also perform uterine artery embolization, a new non-surgical procedure for women who have completed childbearing. Our services include:
- Consultations to develop individual care plans
- Surgical alternatives to hysterectomy
- Laparascopy and hysteroscopy
- Uterine artery embolization
- Coodinated care with other UCSF Medical Center specialists such as fertility experts and high-risk obstetricians
The center is directed by Dr. Alison Jacoby, a gynecologist who founded the center and who specializes in fibroids, their treatment, alternatives to hysterectomy and minimally invasive surgery techniques.
