Dysplasia Clinic

The Dysplasia Clinic offers state-of-the-art care for women with abnormal Pap smears and vulvar disease or pain. The clinic also treats men and women with genital warts and anogenital dysplasia. These conditions often occur in conjunction with an infection of the human papillomavirus (HPV). A full range of screening and treatment options for HPV disease of the anal canal are provided.

Services provided by the clinic include colposcopy, a visual examination of the cervix; loop excision to remove abnormal tissue; laser therapy; high-resolution anoscopy to view the anus, anal canal and lower rectum; and the opportunity to enroll in clinical trials. We also offer the ThinPrep Pap test, an improvement on the conventional Pap test that was approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration.

Our philosophy is that information and knowledge are powerful aspects of the healing process and we encourage our patients to participate in the choice of treatment options.

Appointments are available on Mondays and the first Thursday of each month.

If you are part of an HMO insurance plan, you will need a written "referral authorization" prior to your appointment.

If you are a new patient, we will ask you to bring or send copies of medical records that apply to the care you are seeking, such as previous Pap smear or biopsy results.
