

Neurologist
Dr. S. Andrew Josephson is a neurologist who specializes in neurovascular and other neurological disorders. At UCSF Medical Center, he cares for general neurology and stroke patients. Josephson's research interests include cognitive impairment after stroke and other neurological and medical illness as well as improving the quality and safety of hospital care for patients with rare and common neurological disorders.
After graduating from Stanford University, Josephson earned a medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. He completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in neurology at UCSF, where he was chief resident. He also completed fellowships in neurovascular neurology, specializing in stroke, and behavioral neurology, specializing in dementia, at UCSF. He is an associate professor of neurology, director of UCSF's Neurohospitalist Program, and medical director of Inpatient Neurology at UCSF.
