Dr. Anne W. Chang is an internal medicine specialist and serves as medical director of UCSF Women's Health Primary Care. She treats female patients with a variety of conditions, caring for many who have complex or multiple disorders. Her focus on cultivating long-term relationships with her patients has often led to her treating their family members as well. She is fluent in Mandarin and has a number of patients for whom Mandarin is their first or only language. She has an interest in integrative medicine and includes complementary therapies in her patients' treatment plans when appropriate.

Chang earned her medical degree from McGovern Medical School, where she also completed residency training in internal medicine.

Chang came to UCSF after working at Buffalo General Medical Center.

    Sr. Chang is always thorough informative & supportive of my many chronic health issues. . Primary Care is Preventive healthcare.. Point of entry to Specialist Care & treatment! MUST BE CONTINUED; especially to seniors. Without it unnecessary ER visits & hospitalization can occur.

    Dr Chang always listens to me for any of my issues and concerns and offers very good advices to me. Whenever I email her for problems she would immediately reply to my email! She is very professional very knowledgeable and thorough. She is also very kind and warm. I am so lucky to be under her care. She is the best doctor!!!

    You need a category beyond Very Good! My PCP is superb excellent and amazing! Intuitive a consummate professional who takes her time and makes us all feel special. She praises our efforts and gently encourages us forward. She gives great info in terms I can understand. LOVE HER!!!

    Dr. Chang is such a gift. Kind. Goodl Warm. Impressively knowledgeable and articulate. I have been with her 15 years and cannot think of a single negative experience. I have only seen her "tired" on one occasion - and even that she turned into a positive - as an opportunity to see her commitment to growth learning and thought in the field of medicine. That appointment was as thoughtful complete and kind as any of them. I have had to deal with many providers over the years (cancer Parkinson's nerve damage in myself or family). She is simply the best. I am so grateful for her care.

    Provider did not seem to know my medical history and said several things that were incorrect. Scribe makes a lot of errors in notes. That happens at every visit.

    Dr Chang since 2017 has failed to provide quality continuity of care. She has treated me as if I check off her list of things to do however once there is a obstacle she has not shown any initiative or care in the recent exams and tests which has shown a decline in health nor has provided any resources or plan on how to improve my health under her care.

    The doctor is not accepting new patients since a long time ago. She's too famous and booked. She won't take my client because she's a retiree and was educated. She gives way to the poor and uneducated patients who don't understand English. Very noble indeed.

    I would NOT recommend this provider. She was not prepared to do an annual physical exam. She had not read my chart before seeing me. She appeared to not know what about as going on. Very disappointing experience. I will not see her again.

    This was my first in person visit and the doctor became focussed on one blood test result which was high not normal for me. I felt she spent too much time on that rather than the visits purpose.
