Teresa De Marco, M.D.

Director of heart transplantation

Dr. Teresa De Marco is medical director of heart transplantation and co-director of the Cardiomyopathy and Arrhythmia Research and Education (CARE) Center. She manages patients with pulmonary hypertension and is an expert in the most advanced treatments for the condition. She participates in multi-center studies evaluating state-of-the-art medications for pulmonary hypertension.

De Marco was certified in 2011 by the American Board of Internal Medicine in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. She earned a medical degree at the University of California at Irvine after graduating from the University of California at Berkeley. She completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in internal medicine at UCSF Medical Center. She also completed fellowships in cardiology and heart transplantation. She is a professor of medicine at UCSF.
