Gynecologic cancer specialist
Dr. Rebecca Brooks is a cancer expert specializing in gynecologic cancer, including cervical, ovarian and uterine, cancer; other complex gynecologic problems; and robotic surgery. In her research, her interests include genetic mechanisms underlying metastatic disease, when cancer spreads from the original site to another part of the body, their influence on cancer outcomes, and the interaction of diseases or conditions that co-exist with cancer.
Brooks earned a medical degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology, followed by a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Washington University School of Medicine/Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. She joined UCSF Medical Center and the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2010.
