Breast cancer specialist
Dr. Charles Dollbaum is a cancer specialist and an expert in breast cancer treatment at the UCSF Carol Franc Buck Breast Care Center. .
Dollbaum earned a doctoral degree in medical microbiology and tumor cell biology at the University of California at Berkeley. After medical school, he completed a residency in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in 1984 and a fellowship in medical oncology at UCSF. In addition to his role at UCSF, Dollbaum is the medical director and vice president of Aeron Biotechnology, a laboratory in San Leandro, Calif. that investigates "markers" that help identify types of breast cancer and the most effective treatments. He is an assistant clinical professor of hematology and oncology at UCSF.
