Teen with MS Stays Positive About Her Future
Kirstiene Catapusan started feeling numbness and heaviness on her right side. Diagnostic tests at UCSF Children's Hospital showed there were lesions on her brain, indicating that she was among the rare group of children who develop multiple sclerosis.

Fetoscopic Technology Offers Hope for Twins
Jennifer Canova was thrilled to learn that she was having twin girls. Then she found out her babies were at risk for twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, a complication that affects up to 15 percent of identical twin pregnancies. Canova was immediately referred to the UCSF Fetal Treatment Center.

Hearing Tests for Kids
No child is too young for a hearing test. Infants are routinely screened for potential hearing loss after birth before they leave the hospital. The type of test used to assess a child's hearing status depends on the age and cognitive function of the child.
