Join Dr. David Watts, a UCSF clinical professor of medicine emeritus, for a PBS documentary screening and panel discussion of "Healing Words: Poetry and Medicine" aimed at telling the stories of patients whose lives were dramatically changed by incorporating poetry into the recovery process. The film shows how poetry and art can build understanding and compassion between doctor and patient and help facilitate healing among the most critically ill.

The screening is free and open to the public. It will be held in Herbst Hall of the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, 1600 Divisadero St. in San Francisco. Feel free to bring your lunch.
