Charity Ball to Benefit UCSF Bone Marrow Transplant Program

The Ruby Hill Giving Thanks Charity Committee will hold its seventh charity ball on Saturday, Oct. 23 at the Palm Event Center at Historic Ruby Hill. The black-tie affair, called "An Evening at Club Havana," will feature salsa dancing, roulette and other games, silent and live auctions and tropical cuisine that will recreate a night in Havana. Tickets for the event are $250 per person if purchased before Oct. 15 and $275 after that date.

The evening will benefit the Bone Marrow Transplant Program at UCSF Children's Hospital and six other local charities, including Hope Hospice, Easter Seals Kaleidoscope After-School Program of Dublin, Open Heart Kitchen, Tri-Valley Haven and Twin Valley Learning Center of Livermore and Assistance League of Amador Valley.

The Ruby Hill Giving Thanks Charity Committee was founded in 1997 by a handful of Ruby Hill and Tri-Valley residents. Over the past eight years, the organizers have distributed over $1.6 million to local agencies. The last ball, held in 2002, distributed $292,000.
