Research
The Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Center was established in 1999 through the generosity of philanthropist and filmmaker Michael Douglas. The center is dedicated to translational research, focusing on the biology and therapy of primary brain tumors that afflict children. The center is one of nine institutions in the country participating in a Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium sponsored by the National Cancer Institute. For more information about the center, please visit their Web site.
Clinical trials are studies of drugs and treatments involving patients. If you have questions about participating in a clinical trial, please contact neurosurgery nurses Jane Rabbitt or Margaretta Page at (415) 353-2966, or contact research associate Mary Malec by email at malecm@neurosurg.ucsf.edu.
More information about our clinical trials for childhood brain cancer is available at the neurological surgery Web site.
