Treating leg problems in growing children is often a crucial issue. Pediatric orthopedists understand not only how a condition impacts a child's life at the time of diagnosis, but also what the future impacts will be on physical, emotional and social development.
Our pediatric orthopedists are experts in managing the special needs of children with problems of the legs, including Legg-Calve-Perthes disease, leg length discrepancy, bow legs and knock knees.
Our team is comprised of doctors, nurses and physical therapists who work together to develop treatment plans that are tailored to each child's individual needs. In addition, collaboration with UCSF Medical Center researchers provides access to the latest developments in diagnosing, treating and caring for children with leg problems. Our goal is to improve the child's quality of life, decrease pain and enhance leg function.
