Guest Services at UCSF Children's Hospital provides programs to help make your visit or stay as smooth as possible. Employees and volunteers can help answer your questions, help you find a clinic or provide a cup of coffee while waiting for an appointment.

Medical Center Greeters
Greeters are posted at entrances to UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Children's Hospital to help patients and visitors with directions,
provide information, assist with transportation by calling taxis and assist with the drop-off and pick-up of patients in wheelchairs.
Greeters are located in the lobby of the Ambulatory Care Center, 400 Parnassus Ave., Millberry Union Level I, 500 Parnassus Ave.,
and the lobby of UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Children's Hospital, 505 Parnassus Ave.

Employees at our Patient Information Desk Concierge are available to answer your questions, provide directions and help you

Patient Services Ambassador Volunteer Program
Ambassador volunteers greet patients and visitors at UCSF Children's Hospital at Parnassus and UCSF Medical Center at
Mount Zion as well as provide directions and escort patients to their appointments.
- Ambulatory Care Center, 400 Parnassus Ave. — Ambassadors are located on all floors to assist patients
and visitors. For those who experience long waits, ambassadors provide items such as coffee and snack vouchers
and magazines as well as coloring books, crayons and paper for children.
- Surgical Waiting Area, 505 Parnassus Ave. — Ambassadors escort patients and thier families to Admitting,
Prepare and other areas within the hospital related to surgery. Ambassadors also assist patients, families and friends
with amenities while they wait.
- UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion, 1600 Divisadero St. — Ambassadors provide directions as well as
deliver meals from the cafeteria to patients who receive day-long treatments at the Cancer Infusion Center. This meal delivery
service is provided from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Ambassadors also provide assistance at the Women's Health Center, 2356 Sutter St. at
Mount Zion.
Volunteers, who wear blue vests to identify them as ambassadors, complete an orientation and a month of training. They work
three to seven hours a day and attend quarterly training. For information on joining the ambassador team,

Surgical Waiting Area
Patients who are scheduled for a surgical procedure at UCSF Children's Hospital are asked to check in at the Surgical Waiting
Area. This lounge is for patients, parents and other family members and friends. Hospital staff and volunteers will provide updates
on patients in the operating room and in recovery in the post-anesthesia care unit. The phone number for the Surgical Waiting Area
