The Birthmark & Vascular Anomalies Center was founded in 1991. Patients seen include those with vascular growths such as hemangiomas and other vascular tumors, and vascular malformations including venous, lymphatic, arteriovenous, and mixed malformations. This includes patients with Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome as well as those diagnosed with lymphangioma, cavernous hemangioma, glomangioma, Proteus Syndrome, and other vascular anomalies.
Depending on your health insurance, you may need a referral from a primary care doctor.

In an appointment at the UCSF Vascular Anomalies Conference you will see a pediatric dermatologist, plastic surgeon, interventional radiologist, dermatologic surgeon, and otolaryngologist. This team of experts will then meet and review your case (history, physical exam, prior biopsies, and imaging studies), and decide on further diagnostic work-up and treatment recommendations. This saves you from having to go to multiple doctors' visits and pre-operative visits.
