The UCSF Neurorehabilitation Program helps patients with damaged nervous systems improve their physical and behavioral function after suffering from stroke or other neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injury. The team of experts includes neurologists, neuropsychologists and rehabilitation therapists.
Clinics are located at the UCSF Medical Center and San Francisco Veterans Affairs (SFVA) Medical Center, where injured veterans receive specialized cognitive rehabilitation for traumatic brain injury. Treatment for problems with walking or paralysis is available at both sites. Patient success after rehabilitation is measured with studies such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or motion analysis. Patients also participate in treatment and research at the Neurological Fitness Unit, developed by Neurorehabilitation and Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences.
You'll need a referral from your primary care provider or specialist to make an appointment. Once you have the referral, please call the number below.
