

Blood disorder specialist
Dr. Curt Ries specializes in adult bone marrow transplantation, hematology and treatment of leukemia, multiple myeloma, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myelodysplastic syndrome. He is a clinical professor of medicine and a recipient of the Edward A. Ageno Distinguished Professorship in Hematology/Oncology Award. He served as director of the UCSF Hematology/Oncology Faculty practice from 1980-2001 and director of the Adult Bone Marrow Transplant Program from 1989-1991.
Ries earned a medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, Rochester, N.Y., and completed a fellowship in hematology at the University of California, San Francisco before joining the faculty in 1971. He is a member of numerous professional committees.
