Deborah Hamolsky, a registered nurse and nurse coordinator at the Carol Franc Buck Breast Cancer Center, cares for patients and provides educational and emotional support to women with breast cancer and other breast conditions. She also coordinates the UCSF Cancer Survivorship Program at the breast care center.
Hamolsky earned a special education teaching degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, a nursing degree at the University of Arizona in Tucson and a master of science degree in nursing at UCSF. Prior to joining the breast care center, she worked as a hospital cancer nurse, a home-care case manager, a research assistant for breast-cancer nursing studies and a cancer and AIDS clinical nurse specialist. In addition, she has taught special education in the inner city, provided substance abuse counseling, worked with adolescents in the juvenile justice system and managed a community-based clinic.
