Eric Bottino, M.F.T.

Marriage and family therapist

Eric Bottino joined the Young Adult and Family Center's (YAFC) Intensive Family Therapy Program in 2010. Before joining UCSF, Bottino worked for several years in community-based mental health, where his emphasis was on working with children and families with chronic multiple stressors, mental illness and acute crisis. His experience includes trauma, family psychotherapy, early childhood mental health and severe mental illness.

Since joining YAFC, Bottino has become the designated family therapist for the Eating Disorder Program. He also supervises residents in family therapy and is a faculty member of the Intensive Family Therapy Clinic.

Bottino received his M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the New College of California and completed his graduate training at the New College Community Counseling Center. He also completed postgraduate training at the Creative Living Center's Day Rehabilitation Program for Patients with Severe Mental Illness and the Child Trauma Training Institute.
