

Chief of Endocrinology
Dr. Kenneth Woeber, chief of Endocrinology at UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion, sees patients in the Endocrinology and Thyroid Clinic at Parnassus and the Endocrinology Group at Mount Zion. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in endocrinology and metabolism and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
A native of South Africa, he earned undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of the Witwatersrand. He went to the Harvard Medical Unit and Thorndike Memorial Laboratory for postgraduate training, later serving on the faculty at Harvard Medical School. Since 1975, he has been a professor and vice chair of Medicine at UCSF. His research addresses the transport and peripheral metabolism of thyroid hormone. He received the Van Meter Prize of the American Thyroid Association and served as chair of the Subspecialty Board of Endocrinology and Metabolism of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
