Dr. Lisa Vail is a primary care doctor in the Executive Health Service at UCSF Medical Center. Her patient care interests include health assessments; disease prevention and wellness, including diet and exercise; and treatment of obesity.
Vail earned a medical degree at the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Ill. in 1986. She completed internal medicine training at Duke University Medical Center in 1989 and stayed on as an attending doctor in medicine. She held several positions at Duke, including as an associate with the Duke Center for Living, focusing on wellness and cardiac rehabilitation. From 1995 until 1998, she was medical director of the Duke Diet and Fitness Program. In 1998, she joined the Duke Executive Health Program, where she worked until 2007.
