Michael Winter, Pharm.D.

Clinical pharmacist

Michael Winter is a clinical pharmacist at the UCSF Anticoagulation Clinic, where he provides consultation to health care providers for patients with complex pharmacokinetic problems. He also holds the title of professor emeritus in the department of clinical pharmacy at UCSF, for which he served as vice chair from 1984 to 2007.

Winter earned his doctor of pharmacy at UCSF. He lectures, guides conferences and leads workshops at the state, national and international level on the use of pharmacokinetics in the patient care setting. He is the author of Basic Clinical Pharmacokinetics, as well as other articles and book chapters on clinical pharmacokinetics. He serves as a fellow for the California and American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists and is a member of numerous other professional organizations, including the American Pharmaceutical Association, California Pharmaceutical Association and National Academies of Practice.
