
Obstetrician and gynecologist
Dr. Michelle Khan is an obstetrician and gynecologist who treats patients in the Dysplasia Clinic at UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion. Dysplasia, such as anal and cervical dysplasia and genital warts, is pre-cancerous. Khan is particularly interested in cervical cancer screening, treatments for cervical dysplasia including screening in HIV-positive women, and perinatal HIV management.
Khan earned a medical degree at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and a master's of public health at the UMDNJ School of Public Health. During medical school, she took a two-year leave to work at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute of the National Institutes of Health Research Scholars Program, participating in epidemiologic research at the National Cancer Institute in Rockville, Md. She completed a residency in gynecology and obstetrics at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md.
