Dietitian
Monica Seiber is a dietitian in the UCSF ALS Center. She completes nutritional assessments for patients by reviewing each patient's medical history and test results and by interviewing the patient and family members. Seiber also provides education and counseling regarding diet to help manage ALS. This may include high-calorie, high-protein diets or tips for easier chewing and swallowing. She also provides recommendations for feeding-tube regimen if needed.
Seiber earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science at Pepperdine University in Malibu and completed a dietetic internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Seiber is a registered dietitian and certified nutrition support clinician (CNSC).
