Dr. Nicholas F. Fleming is an internist who provides primary care in the Executive Health Practice at UCSF Medical Center. Prior to joining UCSF, he spent 14 years in a private, multi-specialty practice started by his father in South Carolina. During that time, Fleming held many hospital medical staff leadership positions, from chief of staff to medical director of a skilled nursing facility, and was involved in various community service activities. He was chosen for the inaugural class of the Liberty Fellowship, an Aspen Institute-based leadership development program for young leaders in South Carolina, and is now part of the Aspen Global Fellows Network.
Fleming earned an undergraduate degree at Duke University. He then completed a joint medical degree at Harvard Medical School and master's degree in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Subsequently, Fleming completed an internship and residency training in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
