Dr. Erika Mae Reyes is an optometrist who provides primary eye care to patients of all ages. Her expertise includes managing ocular conditions, such as dry eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration (damage to the part of the retina that controls central vision), cataracts and diabetic retinopathy (damage to retinal blood vessels caused by high blood sugar). She also prescribes glasses and contact lenses to address nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and other common vision problems.

In addition to providing comprehensive eye exams, Reyes performs eye exams for patients participating in clinical trials to evaluate promising new treatments for cancers, rheumatological diseases and other conditions.

Reyes earned her doctor of optometry degree from University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry, where she also completed a clinical research fellowship on dry eye disease and developing new contact lens materials and designs. Prior to joining UCSF, she worked in optometry and ophthalmology private practices in the Bay Area.

Reyes grew up in the Bay Area. She enjoys trying new restaurants and traveling.
