Dr. Joseph Sabatino Jr. is a neurologist with expertise in caring for patients who have multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica (a neurological disorder that primarily affects the optic nerves and spinal cord) and other neuroinflammatory disorders (conditions in which immune responses lead to nervous system damage).

Sabatino's research focuses on T-cell immunology in multiple sclerosis and similar disorders.

Sabatino earned his medical degree and doctorate at the Emory University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in neurology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by a fellowship in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology at UCSF.

    Doctor S is an excellent communicator and listener. His knowledge and care are also excellent I appreciate that he explains in simple language what my changes mean what to expect and what the treatment options are.

    I have had some very bad experiences w UCSF and a misdiagnosis and this a tricky disease to treat. But Dr Sabatino has earned my trust.
