Dr. Lawrence Poree is a pain medicine specialist with expertise in using the latest interventional techniques to control pain with less reliance on oral medications. He is particularly interested in managing pain and restoring function through neuromodulation, technology that delivers electrical stimulation or medication to targeted areas in the body.

Poree earned his master of public health degree at the University of California, Berkeley, where he also earned a doctoral degree in toxicology. He then completed postdoctorate studies in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine, where he completed a residency in anesthesiology. He completed a fellowship in pain management at UCSF.

Poree serves on the boards of the North American Neuromodulation Society, International Neuromodulation Society and California Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

    Dr Poree always listens with patients and his knowledge is astrological compared to my local pain doctor that just refills my meds.

    Dr Poree is wonderful. He's an excellent provider. Sometimes I'm a little confused about things after a visit but he clarifies and explains at followups

    Dr. Poree was very attentive and understanding as I described why I was referred to his office. I appreciated that he allowed me to explain the events that has led me to my my present condition. Many doctors/ specialists dismiss or minimize my pain because of my age.

    Care provider did not have the proper previous medical reports MRI's x-rays etc. To be able to have any where near a full discussion. Reports will be accumulated and sent to the Doctor.

    The overall presentation of the doctor was that he lacks compassion empathy and concern and that he is gruff and cranky. I am concerned that in an emergent situation he may not be a provider I can turn to for assistance.

    Once I figured out that I should have made a 2nd apt before ending my 1st one. I'm okBut wish I was told to do that by someone before it was so late I had a lot of problems getting in to see him in time for refills

    Dr. Poree is an exceptional human being. He is very knowledgeable In his field and Is so willing share his expertise. He explained everything In laymans' terms and made sure that all of my many questions were answered before leaving. He was very calm and did not rush through this first meeting. I was very Impressed with his kind demeanor and sincerely caring to get me out of this severe pain. He did give me hope that I will walk again without pain. I wiah that other doctors would emulate the hopeful spirit that Dr. Poree radiates to his patients

    There were referrals for a different MRI and pelvic floor specialist but everything's labor intensive. I need to try to get a real person to address scheduling
