Paul Su

Dr. Paul Su is an anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist who cares for patients with various pain conditions. Keeping each patient's needs and goals in mind, he tailors a comprehensive treatment plan that integrates physical rehabilitation, medication optimization, complementary medicine therapies, pain psychology and pain-relieving procedures.

Su studies nervous system changes that occur after injury to better understand why neuropathic pain (nerve pain) occurs, with the goal of developing new treatments for chronic pain.

Su earned his medical degree at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed a residency in anesthesiology and a fellowship in pain medicine at UCSF.
