Dr. Richard Weisiger, chief of the Gastrointestinal Faculty Practice at UCSF Medical Center, specializes in treating conditions such as heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux GERD), Barrett's esophagus and irritable bowel syndrome.
Weisiger earned a medical degree and doctorate at Duke University and completed a residency at Washington University in St. Louis. He went on to complete research fellowships at the National Institutes of Health and UCSF, where he also completed a clinical fellowship. An active researcher in the field of gastroenterology, Weisiger has published 82 papers on the subject in medical journals and books.
