The Fontana Tobacco Treatment Center at UCSF Medical Center offers classes as well as individual consultations with doctors and nurses trained in treating tobacco addiction.
Stop Smoking classes are taught by registered nurses and former smokers — Suzanne Harris, a certified tobacco treatment specialist, and Joan Schoonover, a tobacco treatment specialist. Classes cover smoking and health, addiction and strategies for quitting.
Classes involve four weekly sessions in the afternoons or evenings. Each class is held for two hours. The registration fee is $55. Enroll online.
Classes are held in conference rooms at the Mount Zion campus of UCSF Medical Center.
